St. Patricks Day Celebrations 2024

Bhí alán sport agus spraoi againn í rith na seachtaine!
The week leading up to St. Patricks Day was a week of fun activities. Everyone embraced Seachtain na Gaeilge and it was a pleasure to hear so much Gaeilge being spoken by the children. We celebrated the overall Gaelgeoirí na Seachtaine during our Tionól on Thursday. All of the classes sang Irish songs. Our many Irish dancers from Junior Infants to Sixth Class performed during the Tionól.
There was also a whole school Irish Bingo competition, art activities and a themed classroom door competition which was won by First Class. Junior and Senior Infants even had their own parade together with the Boys' School.

Grandparents' Day 2024

On January 24th, we were delighted to host our second Grandparents' Day as part of Catholic Schools Week.  Approximately, 120 grandparents attended our celebration. After a get together for refreshments in the hall, they visited the children in their classrooms. The children had lots of questions for them and loved hearing about their experiences in school and when they were young. It was a lovely day for all as you can see from the photos below!

Arts Week - January 2024

Arts Week took place in January and the theme was 'Bring Some Colour into Your Life'!

A variety of events took place during the week including sessions with a Storyteller, Niall De Burc, music and drumming sessions and Zumba classes.

All children in the school drew a self-portrait. These were collated into a fabulous rainbow display.

We finished the week with an Assembly in which the classes performed a song related to the theme. It was a fun week for all.

The Junior half of the school performed their Christmas plays during the last week of term, for both the pupils of the school and separately for their families.
Congratulations to all students and their teachers on their fabulous plays. The gorgeous singing and cute performances made for an emotional experience for all.

This is a fundraising event for the Vincent DePaul Society to support local families at Christmas Time. All pupils in the school are involved in this and it culminates in a fun movie day on December 15.
