Seachtain na Gaeilge celebrations:

We had a great celebration for Seachtain na Gaeilge, culminating in our Lá Glas assembly celebration. The students enjoyed many activities 'as Gaeilge' during the week, including Bingo and daily 'Gaeilgeoir an Lae' awards.

Presented by 6th Class:
As a fitting celebration of International Womens Day on March 7th, our 6th Classes exhibited their projects on inspiring women. Over the morning they presented them to the rest of the school. The younger students really enjoyed learning from them.

As part of Catholic Schools Week we celebrated Grandparents' Day on January 22nd. It is our third year running this event and it is getting bigger by the year. We were delighted with the response from grandparents to our invitation. We had an informal reception for them in the hall before they visited the classrooms. Once again, this event was a huge success and further strengthens our ties with our community.

This year Arts Week took place from the 13th to the 17th of January. We had special guest teachers for music, drama and Zumba, in addition to all of this, we had a return visit from the renowned storyteller, Niall De Burca. We also had an art competition, with the theme ‘Our Favourite Things’, with a prize in each class.
The week finished with a whole school Zumba during yard time. It was led in turn by each class group and was enjoyed by all, as you can see from the photos.

Our Christmas plays took place this week.
You can get a flavour of the their fabulous performances in the photos below!

Movie Madness Charity Fundraiser 2024
Together with their teachers, Ms. Condren and Mr. Gleeson, our Sixth Classes organised a 'Movie Madness' fundraiser for the St. Vincent dePaul Society to support members of our local community at Christmas time. All of the classes in the school got involved. On the day, Santa and his elves delivered treats to the children to thank them for their fundraising efforts.

Christmas Fair 2024
Our Christmas Fair was a great success. Thank you to all the members of our community who helped out by running stalls and also all those who supported us on the day. The fair is an essential fundraising event for both the girls and boys schools.

Halloween 2024
There was great excitement and lots of fun for our annual Halloween dress-up day. It coincided with our Junior and Senior Halloween assemblies where every class performed for the school. As with tradition the teachers got in on the action with their dress-up theme of 'Heroes & Villans'!
You can get a flavour of the fantastic costumes and fun on the day in the photos below.

Daily Mile Challenge -October 2024
Our 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes signed up for the Daily Mile Challenge this year. They committed to regular training runs, which culminated in a fun event in Kilbogget Park run by DLRCC. There were several different warm ups and games before the girls took to the athletics track together to complete their Fun Run. Everyone put great effort into the run. It was a fantastic event and they all had a fun time as you will see from the photos.

Well-being Week 2024
This year our annual Well-being Week took place from the 16th to the 20th of September. The children enjoyed many related activities in school . Homework consisted of a well-being task for homework each day.
Each day had a different theme:
- Mindful Monday
- Thankful Tuesday
- Well-being Wednesday
- Thoughtful Thursday
The week ended with our whole school Sponsored Walk in Kilbogget Park, followed by a picnic. All of the classes had great fun. Thanks to all who supported this important fundraiser for the school.
